Networker Code of Conduct

Effective date: May 25, 2026

As a Kootami Networker, you are entrusted with building and managing business networking rooms that foster genuine professional connections. This Code of Conduct sets the standards we expect every Networker to uphold. Violation of these standards may result in badge revocation, room suspension, or account termination.

1. Professional Integrity

Represent yourself and your business honestly. Your LinkedIn profile, bio, and business details must be accurate and current. Do not impersonate other individuals or organisations.

Maintain transparency about any commercial interests when facilitating introductions or recommending services within your rooms.

2. Respectful Communication

Treat all room members with dignity and respect regardless of their business size, industry, gender, religion, caste, or background. Harassment, discrimination, and abusive language are grounds for immediate suspension.

Constructive disagreement is welcome; personal attacks are not. When moderating discussions, apply rules consistently and fairly to all members.

3. No Spam or Unsolicited Promotion

Do not use rooms to broadcast unsolicited advertisements, MLM pitches, or bulk marketing messages. The asks-and-offers system is designed for targeted, category-matched business opportunities — respect its purpose.

Announcements should be relevant to room members. Bulk invite credits must be used for genuine business invitations, not mass marketing campaigns.

4. Privacy and Data Protection

Respect the privacy of room members. Do not share, sell, or misuse member contact information obtained through Kootami rooms. Member directories are for networking purposes only.

When collecting information through events or forms, clearly state your data usage intent and comply with applicable data protection laws including the DPDP Act 2023.

5. Financial Transparency

If you charge entry fees for rooms, clearly communicate what members receive in return. Pricing must be fair and transparent. Hidden fees or misleading pricing practices are prohibited.

All financial transactions on the platform are subject to applicable taxes and platform commission rates as per your subscription terms.

6. Safety and Trust

Report any suspicious activity, fraud attempts, or safety concerns to the Kootami support team immediately. As a room host, you bear responsibility for maintaining a safe environment for your members.

Do not facilitate illegal activities, money laundering, or any transactions that violate Indian law through your rooms or the platform.

7. Platform Guidelines

Do not attempt to circumvent platform features, payment systems, or security measures. Use the platform as intended and report bugs or vulnerabilities through proper channels.

Maintain your room by approving pending members promptly (within 48 hours recommended), keeping content fresh, and engaging with your community regularly.

8. Enforcement

Violations of this Code of Conduct are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Consequences may include:

  • Warning notification with corrective action request
  • Temporary suspension of specific features or rooms
  • Revocation of Verified Badge
  • Permanent account termination

You may appeal enforcement decisions by contacting our support team within 14 days of the action.

9. Changes to This Code

We may update this Code of Conduct from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email and platform notification at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Networker features after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

By accepting this Code of Conduct during your Networker application, you agree to abide by these standards. If you have questions, contact us at support@kootami.com.
