Code of Conduct

Represent yourself and your business honestly. Your profile and business details must be accurate and current. Do not impersonate other individuals or organisations.

A club's name, purpose and “who it's for” say what it is. Keep the club to that purpose: Kootami may unlist a club that drifts away from it. Be open about any commercial interest when you make introductions or recommend a service.

Treat everyone at your meets and clubs with dignity and respect, whatever their business size, industry, gender, religion, caste or background. Harassment, discrimination and abusive language are grounds for immediate suspension.

Constructive disagreement is welcome; personal attacks are not. Apply your club's rules the same way to every member.

Do not use a meet or a club to broadcast advertisements, MLM pitches or bulk marketing. People say what they need and what they offer so they can be matched on it — respect that purpose.

A meet's name comes from its venue or event. Do not use it, or a club's name, to advertise your own business.

Members of a club see each other's name, photo, business, role, industry and city, and never a phone number or email. Do not collect contact details to pass on, and do not share, sell or misuse anything you learn about the people at your meets and in your clubs.

When you collect information through an event or a form, say clearly how you will use it and comply with applicable data protection laws, including the DPDP Act 2023.

Meets are free. Never charge anyone, inside or outside Kootami, to come to a meet.

A club's member fee is shown before anyone joins. Say clearly what members get for it. Member fees are not refunded when a member leaves or is removed, so make that plain before they join. Member fees are paid out to your bank account monthly; you are responsible for any tax on what you earn.

Members pay their fees to you. Refunds and disputes with members are yours to settle. A club that charges members takes their fees only once Kootami has verified your bank details.

Report any suspicious activity, fraud attempt or safety concern to the Kootami support team straight away. As a meet host or club owner, you are responsible for keeping your meet or club a safe place to meet.

Do not facilitate illegal activities, money laundering, or any transactions that violate Indian law through your meets, your clubs or the platform.

Do not attempt to circumvent platform features, payment systems, or security measures. Use the platform as intended and report bugs or vulnerabilities through proper channels.

If your club asks you to approve each request, answer requests promptly (within 48 hours is recommended). Use suspend, remove and block fairly, and only for a reason you could explain to the member.

Breaches of this Code of Conduct are reviewed case by case. Consequences may include:

• A warning, with a correction asked for
• A meet closed, or a club unlisted
• Hosting or running clubs suspended for a time
• The account closed for good

You may appeal a decision by contacting our support team within 14 days of it.

We may update this Code of Conduct from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email and in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. Hosting a meet or running a club after changes take effect means you accept them.
